These terms govern your use of Uplint — the API, the SDKs and the dashboard. Each section opens with the plain-English version; the full wording follows. Where they differ, the full wording wins.
By using Uplint you agree to these terms. They are fair and written to be read.
A legal agreement between you (or your company) and Uplint
You must be 18 or older, or have authority to bind your company
Creating an account, calling the API or paying for the service is acceptance
We may update the terms with at least 30 days notice
What this is
This is a legal agreement between you, or the company you represent, and Uplint. It governs your use of the Uplint API, SDKs, CLI and dashboard (together, the "Service").
Who can use Uplint
You must be at least 18 years old
If you sign up for a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it
You must not be barred from using the Service under the laws of your jurisdiction
Accepting these terms
You accept these terms by creating an account, using the API or paying for the Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Changes to the terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes we email the account owner at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance; if you disagree, close your account before then.
Keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
One account per person or organisation, with accurate details
Protect your password, API keys and storage credentials
You are responsible for all activity under your account
Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access
Account creation
Provide accurate information and keep it current — we use your email for notices that matter. One account per person or organisation; invite teammates rather than sharing logins.
Credentials
You are responsible for keeping your password, API keys and the storage credentials you connect confidential. API keys can be scoped and rotated; storage credentials can be rotated or revoked at any time, which ends our access immediately.
If something goes wrong
Rotate the affected API keys and storage credentials
Use the API to give files an identity, route them to storage you own, serve them and move them. We provide the control plane; you build the product.
Access through the REST API, SDKs, CLI and dashboard
Files are written to and read from storage accounts you connect
Rate limits and plan limits apply; current limits are on the pricing page
Build whatever you like, within the acceptable-use rules
What the Service does
Accepts uploads and streams them to the bucket your policy selects
Assigns each file a stable ID and keeps its record: metadata, location, events
Issues signed URLs so your users read and write directly against your storage
Moves, copies and deletes objects between buckets, regions and clouds on your instruction
Applies the policies you write — routing, residency, lifecycle, access
What the Service is not
Uplint is not a storage provider. The bytes live in accounts you hold with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Cloudflare or another provider, under your contract with them. Their availability, durability and pricing are governed by that contract, not this one.
Plan limits
Each plan has limits on API requests, files under management, connected storage targets and team members. Current limits and prices are published at uplint.dev/pricing. We tell you before you reach a limit; when you do, requests may be throttled or overage billed according to your plan. You can upgrade at any time.
Fair use
Even plans described as unlimited are subject to fair use. Do not use Uplint's infrastructure for purposes unrelated to the Service, deliberately overload it, or run workloads designed to circumvent limits.
Documentation and support
We provide documentation at docs.uplint.dev and support according to your plan, described in section 6.
No circumventing security, limits or other customers
Prohibited content
You may not use the Service to store, route or distribute:
Child sexual abuse material — reported to the relevant authorities without exception
Content that infringes another person's intellectual property
Malware, viruses or code designed to cause harm
Stolen personal data or credentials
Content that promotes violence, terrorism or hatred
Prohibited activity
You may not:
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Probe, bypass or defeat our security or rate limits
Reverse-engineer the Service, except where the law permits it
Resell access to the Service without our written agreement
Interfere with other customers' use of the Service
Use automated means to abuse the API
What happens if these rules are broken
Depending on severity: a warning, suspension, termination, or referral to law enforcement. We may remove access to a file record or key immediately where required to protect others. Because the bytes are in your buckets, removal of a record does not itself delete your objects.
You own your files. We hold the record and route the bytes; we claim nothing.
You keep every right to your content
You grant us only the licence needed to run the Service
We never train models on your files and never look inside them
You are responsible for having the right to store and serve what you upload
Ownership
Your files are yours. Uplint claims no ownership or intellectual-property rights in anything you or your users upload.
The licence you give us
To operate the Service you grant Uplint a limited, non-exclusive licence to: receive and stream upload bodies to the storage you connect; store and process the file record and its events; issue signed URLs for access; and copy, move or delete objects between storage targets on your instruction. The licence exists only to provide the Service and ends when the record is deleted or your account is closed.
What we do not do
We do not retain file contents after the write to your bucket is confirmed
We do not use your content to train models
We do not inspect file contents beyond what the Service needs to route them
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to the content you upload, that it complies with applicable law and with the acceptable-use rules, and for the terms under which your own users provide it to you.

What counts as downtime
The Uplint API returning errors, or the dashboard being unreachable, for more than five consecutive minutes, as measured by our monitoring.
What does not count
Scheduled maintenance announced at least 72 hours in advance
Problems in your code, network or configuration
Outages of the storage provider you connected — their availability is governed by your contract with them
Events beyond our reasonable control
Maintenance
Scheduled windows fall on Sundays between 02:00 and 06:00 UTC and are announced on the status page and by email. Emergency maintenance happens with as much notice as we can give.

Public prices, monthly or annual billing, cancel any time.
Prices are those published at uplint.dev/pricing at the time of billing
Monthly or annual billing; annual plans are discounted
Price changes with 30 days notice, never mid-period
No cancellation fees
Pricing
Current prices are published at uplint.dev/pricing in US dollars unless stated otherwise. We may change prices with at least 30 days notice; changes never apply to a billing period already paid.
Billing
Monthly plans bill on the same date each month
Annual plans bill once a year at a discount
Invoices are emailed; Enterprise customers may pay by invoice on agreed terms
Payments are processed by Stripe
Late or failed payment
Failed card payments are retried three times over seven days. Accounts more than 14 days overdue may be suspended until payment is made; file records are retained during suspension.
Refunds
Annual plans cancelled within the first 30 days are refunded pro rata. Monthly plans are not refunded for partial months. Service credits are applied to future invoices and are not paid out.
Taxes
Prices exclude taxes unless stated. We collect tax where the law requires; provide a tax ID if your business is exempt.
We limit our liability to what you have paid us. Keep your own backups — and remember the bytes are already in your storage.
Liability capped at fees paid in the preceding 12 months
No liability for indirect or consequential loss
Free tier provided as-is, without warranty
We do our best; we cannot promise perfection
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Uplint's total liability to you for all claims arising out of the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. For the free tier, that amount is zero.
What we are not liable for
Loss of profits, revenue or business
Indirect, special or consequential loss
Loss of data held in your storage accounts — which remain under your control and your provider's terms
Third-party claims against you
Downtime beyond the service credits described in section 6
Warranties
For paid plans we warrant that the Service will perform materially as documented and that we maintain reasonable security measures. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The free tier is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
Your responsibilities
Keep backups appropriate to your business, test the Service before relying on it in production, and have a plan for when any dependency — ours or your storage provider's — is unavailable.
You can leave any time. We can terminate for violations. Your files never left your storage, so there is nothing to get back.
Cancel from the dashboard, no fees
We may terminate for breach, non-payment or abuse
Export file records and events before closing
90 days notice if we ever discontinue the Service
Cancelling
Cancel from the dashboard at any time. Access continues until the end of the paid period. Export your file records and event history first; the objects themselves are already in your buckets and are unaffected.
Termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, do not pay, abuse the Service, or where the law requires. We give notice and an opportunity to cure where it is reasonable to do so.
What happens on termination
Immediately: dashboard access ends
Within 24 hours: API keys stop working and signed URLs stop being issued
For 30 days: file records available for export on request
After 30 days: records and events permanently deleted
Objects in your storage accounts are never touched on termination.
If we discontinue the Service
We give at least 90 days notice, refund prepaid amounts for the unused period, and provide tooling to export every record. Your files, being in your storage, are already portable.
Talk to us first. If that fails, binding arbitration in California.

Unresolved disputes go to binding arbitration through JAMS
Individual claims only — no class actions where the law allows the waiver
California law governs
Let's talk first
Email legal@uplint.dev with your account email and the details. We reply within 14 days and try in good faith to resolve it together.
Arbitration
Disputes we cannot resolve are settled by binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules, seated in San Francisco, California, conducted in English.
Class action waiver
You and Uplint agree to resolve disputes individually. Where the law does not permit this waiver, it does not apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Exceptions
Nothing in this section prevents you from reporting matters to a regulator, seeking injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property, or bringing an eligible claim in small-claims court.
